Top Open Water Swimmers to Compete at Nationals

The top open water swimmers in the U.S. will compete at the 2010 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships, June 4 and 6 in Long Beach, Calif. The competition includes both a 5K and 10K race, and will serve as the selection meet for the 2010 FINA Open Water World Championships and the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships.

ALLOWABLE SWIMSUITS FOR OPEN WATER NATIONALS

Effective June 1, 2010, the rules regarding swimsuits allowable for USA Swimming sanctioned or approved open water events, including the 2010 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships and National Team Trials, are as follows.

Sara Nicponski still finds it difficult to believe that she's on the U.S. National Team. It's not a question of whether or not she belongs on the team – she knows she's proven that she does. It's more about who else is on the team and what they've accomplished that's a bit daunting for her.
