Dana Vollmer (Granbury, Texas) had a strong night in the pool Saturday, taking home two gold medals on the final night of competition at the 2010 Austin Grand Prix. Vollmer won both the 200m fly and 100m free, an event in which she also set a pool record.

Two pool records were broken Friday on the second night of competition at the 2010 Austin Grand Prix. Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill.) broke the pool record in the mens 100m back with a time of 53.05 while Rebecca Soni (Plainsboro, N.J.) set the pool record in the womens 100m breast with a time of 1:06.43.

Ariana Kukors (Auburn, Wash.) set a pool record Thursday on the first day of competition at the 2010 Austin Grand Prix. Kukors broke Tracy Caulkins pool record in the 200m IM with a time of 2:10.34. The meet, taking place at the University of Texas at Austin, runs through Saturday, March 6.

Like most youngsters getting their feet wet in the sport of swimming, Anne-Marie Botek had a dream. She had watched the Olympic Games, envisioning the day when she, too, would don the red, white and blue and proudly represent the United States, hopefully enjoying the same thrill of victory and sense of accomplishment she saw on the athletes' faces.

North Baltimore Aquatic Club is the team champion for the 2010 Club Excellence Program. Five clubs achieved the Gold level for the first time: Bolles School Sharks, Carmel Swim Club, Rockville Montgomery, The Woodlands, and the University of Denver Hilltoppers. A record 58 clubs met the criteria for Gold medal eligibility.

It wasn't long ago that Peter Marshall measured his success in the pool in terms of medals and Olympic Teams. But when he missed joining his U.S. teammates at the 2004 Athens Games by a mere four-hundredths of a second at Trials, he began to realize that it is more than possible to enjoy swimming while keeping life's important things in their proper place.
